Introduction
Sailing from Tampa to Grand Cayman Islands and back while immersed in the best Blues music performed by some of the finest artist you can think of….. That is Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea V.
My choice to join this trip was mainly driven by the unique line-up with Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Walter Trout, Eric Gales and many, many others.
It was holiday time, so I just took some pics and video’s whenever the opportunity was right. So in the coming weeks I will update below with lots of video’s of some crazy performances. I can guarantee you that!
If you want to see Joe, Kenny and Walter doing some songs together check it out!
I will give no further comment other than mentioning that if you feel that “the blues” is a part of your life and you belong to this unique family of people that is supporting the blues and its history you really should consider to join one of these theme cruises. You can probably discuss for hours whether it is value for money, but my answer is: “Yes it is”
Sixthman and Norwegian (NCL) do everything too make this trip worth your money. But believe me, after seeing all these great performances with lots of special jams, cooperation and gigs, the last thing you think about is money. This is a memory you can take home and enjoy for the rest of your life.

About
Keeping The Blues Alive Foundation fuels the passion for music by funding programs and scholarships for students and teachers who possess the desire, but lack the resources or access to achieve their potential within the field of music. KTBA has been able to fund music projects affecting over 50,000 students in all 50 states since 2011! We accomplish this by making weekly donations to music projects in schools and merit-based scholarships all over the country.
Mission
Our mission is to offset the loss of music education programs by funding music projects, scholarships, and preserving the rich culture and history of the Blues as a true American artform.
The Founder – Joe Bonamassa
As a two-time GRAMMY-nominated artist, who earlier this year achieved his 21st #1 album on the Billboard Blues Chart, he’s already become a living legend with an astounding multi-genre catalogue of music.
Bonamassa has over 30 albums to date with studio and live recordings and a limitless work ethic whether it’s in studio, on the road, or working with other artists to spur new music. He’s been featured in every publication from Esquire and Parade to Rolling Stone and American Songwriter, as well as on the covers of Guitar Player, Vintage Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, and Classic Rock magazine.
The New York state native opened for B.B. King when he was only 12 years old and has since played alongside such artists as Eric Clapton, Stephen Still, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Steve Winwood, and Buddy Guy among others. B.B. King might not have guessed it at the time, but that 12-year-old whiz kid would go on to become an industry powerhouse. It was from this childhood inspiration that Joe decided to create the Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation, to continue music education for the next generation of musicians!
“You see, now, there’s a bit of a movement, there’s a lot of both male and female guitarists, singers, and songwriters. And if you can give one kid the seed, and it grows, and it comes out to be the next big blues rock star then you know what? I’ve done my job; I’ve done what I set out to do so many years ago. Not only have I developed a little career for myself, but I have also helped others the same way BB King helped me when I was 12 years old. And it’s a great name, ‘Keeping the Blues Alive.’ That’s what it is.”
